Well hello 2007! It’s a pleasure to meet you, but tell me, when did you sneak in? I feel a little bad because I didn’t really bid 2006 a proper farewell which saddens me a bit. Still I know it was time for 2006 to go on it’s way.

I will probably recall 2006 as my favorite bi-polar year. We were not great friends at first. I specifically remember spending several nights crying myself to sleep while 2006 turned a cold and distant shoulder. But with time I began to warm up to 2006 and when tragedy struck mid year I was given hope and inspiration in a way I had never known before. From that point on 2006 helped see me through some obstacles and gave me the courage to do things I never thought I would. Without 2006 I don’t think I would be where I am on this day.

2007, I don’t want to put too much pressure on you, but I do hope that you will be the engine that keeps me going as much as 2006 was the catapult for the beginning of my dreams being realized. However, since I hardly know you I will try to keep my expectations of you to a minimal amount. So it is with a wave and a smile that I welcome you with a enthusiastic and gracious embrace while wishing you an exciting and comfortable stay in the months to come. :)
